Margaret Scott is a practicing board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has a long history of working as a Registered Nurse for over twenty-five years. The primary focus of her care has been neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patients as well as their families in various settings. While exploring the many specialty areas there are in nursing, she became interested in mental health.
Though pediatrics has been her preferred specialty, she holds an affinity for caring for teenagers and assisting them through the unique challenges they face as they approach adulthood. With increasing academic, athletic, and social pressures resulting in increased anxiety, depression, and impaired self-concepts, the desire is to teach teens effective coping mechanisms that will last a lifetime.
Margaret utilizes talk therapy, cognitive restructuring, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology as well as any other therapies that will benefit the emotional and mental needs of the patients she serves. There is always collaboration amongst providers to provide the best care for all patients.
Margaret strives to provide flexibility, insight, and empathy to all patients. The goal is for all patients to feel valued, empowered, and successful in solving problems as they arise to eliminate disruption in the daily routines associated with life.
